Wastewater Treatment Plant
An integrated treatment infrastructure that recovers water, generates energy from biogas and manages waste at its source.
The industrial wastewater generated at our facility is returned to production after passing through advanced treatment processes. A significant portion of the water treated at the PM3, PM4 and PM5 Treatment Plants is reused in the stock preparation process, while the remaining part is subjected to advanced treatment at the Reuse plants and recovered at fresh water quality. These applications support the efficient use of water resources and steadily increase our recovery rates.
In line with our environmental sustainability approach, approximately 45,000 m³ of biogas is produced daily in the anaerobic reactors at our treatment plants. The biogas obtained is used for energy generation at the MEDCEM facilities, while rejects arising from production processes and treatment sludge are used at the Solid Waste Incineration Plant for energy recovery.
Our water recovery, biogas production, energy recycling and waste management practices are carried out with a holistic environmental management approach that supports the efficient use of resources.
